Rome hotel - sprained ankle

I've just gotten the opportunity to go to Rome for a weekend in July - but have a badly sprained ankle and must wear an orthopedic book. Any ideas for a centrally located hotel, where I'll be close to interesting sites. I realize we'll need to walk, but would place a premium on a fabulous central location. Price range is 150-350.

Hi Vicky

Gosh what rotten luck. In case you need to "chill out" I think you should make sure you get a hotel where you have a room with a balcony or terrace with a view of the "Tetti di Roma". The Albergo del Sole al Biscione - http://www.solealbiscione.it- has a room on the terrace for €150. Good location too. Sitting on the terrace with a nice bottle of red and a beautiful view of Rome's skyline will make your visit memorable despite your handicap.

Best of luck and a speedy recovery.

I generally would not recommend the Hotel Condotti, because everyone who stays there seems to have some problem (we had a toilet that one had to pour a bucket of water down to flush) but the rooms are pretty nice and the location is the very best... You could just walk outside and enjoy yourself.

Take a look at it, anyway.

Grand Hotel de la MInerve is about as central as you can get . . . near the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Wonderful hotel They will make you very comfortable, sprained ankle and all.
