Hi everyone - My flight out of Rome departs prior to 7:00am. I'm trying to consider my transportation options since the metro system doesn't start until 5:30am I believe. Has anyone been in this situation? If so, would you recommend reserving a private transfer in advance (through Viator.com?) or checking with the hotel upon arrival to ask them to arrange a taxi? I'm staying near Vatican City and need to get to FCO by 4:30am. I appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks!

Rome Shuttle Limousine or a taxi. Taxis are set fees of 40€ to the airport for four people including luggage(might be a slight surcharge for such an early departure).

I agree completely with kybourbon. Rome Shuttle Limousine has been my transport of choice for years, doesn't matter the time of day, they are always on time.

We have been in the same exact situation. No trains at that hour. We took a taxi from the hotel. I don't remember the exact details but, I believe, we told the hotel a few days before and they arranged for the cab driver to come and pick us up at the specific time we wanted.
Thanks so much for your help! I will look into these options.
