Rome-Cesari, Del Senato or Nazionalle Montiecitorio???

Help!
Quoted rates for June 05 all for superior double, incl. breakfast, taxes services:

Cesari-- E220
Del Senato-- E243 the only one including view and small balcony
Nationale-- E242
Which would be the better choice?

A vote for Albergo del Senato: excellent location in the very heart of Rome. Also Albergo Nazionale is central, it is right on Via Nazionale but it can be noisy and the view you have from Hotel del Senato is awesome! go for it!

THANK YOU! I THINK THATS WHAT WE'LL DO, EVEN WITH THE THREAT OF RENOVATIONS GOING ON AT THE PANTHEON.

Just curious, are you booking this early or just browsing? We are planning Italy for next July but I will likely only start booking by Feb. only. Will that be too late? Thanks.

I've read that the Nazionale is pretty nice and it's closeby the Pantheon also.

There're three, if I'm not wrong, Hotel or Albergo Nazionale in Rome. This one klapenta referred to is the Nazionale at Montecitorio, at Piazza Montecitorio, and not Via Nazionale. It's also of a higher standard than the one at Via Nazionale. It has got very good reviews on Trip Advisor, and also on Venere web site. Location couldn't be more central to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps, and it has the bonus of being in a pedestrian only area.

Stayed at Albergo Cesari in 9/01; nice hotel and nice breakfast. Some rooms are larger than others.

Suggestion for any hotel that it on any Piazza or "main area", stay away from rooms that have "a view"; these will be noisy, especially at night. City workers clean streets, empty garbage and even work on the streets at night in Rome (can't do it during the day with all the people on them).

Stayed at Cesari 2 times; 1st time = noisy. Complained to mgmt and the 2nd time (same trip) had a completely quite room on a higher floor.

I WAS just browsing but decided to book when the hotels said thet they STILL have availability as of now for June 05!
Might be just a ploy--but I feel better knowing that I have a room and cancellation policies are usually up to a couple of days before check in, so we still have time to change our minds.
Also, don't know where else you are visiting, but we already did our bookings for the resort areas( Positano and Bellagio). Heard that the good rooms get booked up early in those areas.

Thanks for the info. I will start loking seriously now.We are planning(family of 4, kids 10 and 14) a land trip, CT and then a 12 day Med. cruise from Rome and then back to Rome for few days. So I only need hotels for CT and Rome.

We stayed at the Nazionale a Montecitorio last November and are returning next March.

It is a 4* hotel on a very quiet piazza with no cars allowed. It is patroled by police since the Parliament building is right there. Very close to the Pantheon. More importantly, right around the corner from Giolitti where you'll find outstanding gelato. We enjoyed it at least twice a day.

We had a very large "executive" room on the fourth floor with a lovely view of the piazza.

Where is CT? Do yo mean Connecticut?
Also we took a Princess cruise a couple of years ago from Barcelona to Venice--it was fabulous!Exhausing because we saw soooo much in the twelve days but that's actually why we are going back to Italy to see more. Enjoy!

Hi klapenta, no I mean Cinque Terre.I am looking into spending 2 nights in the area. I have not decided on which town. Problem is its kinda tough planning this holiday when I still have a trip to make back home to South Africa over Christmas, but I have started looking and I am partial to Nazionale Montecieto? next to parliament building and on a pedestrian street so not noisy at night. Also Cesari does seem to get good reviews.Re: cruise I have only done 2 on Rcl and Celebrity, but Carnival has a new ship doing Europe for the first time on 20/07/05.Itinery is perfect for us as it has Livorno, Venice , Croatia and Barcelona, so it elminates alot of rail travel for us and with kids it makes sense to do it.I am a bit concerned tho it being Carnival and what if ship is not ready on time?

My vote is Nazionale a Montecitorio! We were there this past March and loved it! Their website is www.nazionaleroma.it/.

We were right across from the Italian Senate & Parliament which explained why there were so many soldiers walking around in their vibrantly colored uniforms, so you really felt protected wherever you went.

We were within walking distance of the Pantheon...about three blocks, the tomb of the unknown soldier, the roman ruins and coliseum was maybe a mile away, but we managed the walk and we ain't skinny! lol The trevi fountain was about two blocks away.....

We even walked to the Vatican...took about 30-40 minutes, but it was so much fun to walk along the Tiber river...and see the sites, the italian apartments, the trees, the little motor scooters that everyone seemed to have.......we had such a good time! Good Luck!
