Romania, Bulgaria, or Croatia?
I will be travelling through Eastern Europe in two weeks, with my final destination in Athens for studies. I've alreasy planned my itinerary in Poland, Czech Republic, and Hungary.
It leaves me with 9 days to get from Budapest to Athens. Originally, I wanted to see Transylvania, then the Black Sea Coast of Romania and Bulgaria, before taking a train to Athens from Sofia or Thessaloniki.
But...I probably won't have enough time to do all this, right? I've also considered Croatia, which may be more practical in terms of time- and looks beautiful.
I guess the overriding questions are:
1. Do I only have time for one of these countries?
2. If so, which would you recommend?
3. How would you rate the black sea coast compared to the Adriatic sea coast?
I'd appreciate any input!
Cheers,
Jen.

A friend just came back from Bulgaria and found the coast there unattractive. You could do a trip through Romania and Bulgaria on the way to Athens. Check to see if there is a train that would take you to Timisoara, Sibiu, Brasov and Bucarest. Each of the first three towns mentioned are worth a visit. From there I would go to Sofia and then on to Athens.
