Romania - April/May or September for best weather?

Jump to last reply

We're beginning to think about a trip to Maramures, Bucovina and Transylvania. Objectives of the trip are the painted/fortified monasteries/churches, folk museums, old towns and the like.

We have been looking at weather figures, especially rainfall. We suspect April may be a bit early, especially in the north, but wonder if May could begin to get a bit rainy. September looks reasonably dry although would give less day length.

Comments from those with practical experience of the differences between these (or other) times of year would be welcome.
