Rochefort is a municipality rather than a town. I have visited the caves at Han-sur-Lesse, and enjoyed them. You could combine this with a drive through the Ardennes, which is very pretty (forests and hills), and have a stop in La Roche-en-Ardenne, which is also a nice town to visit. Good luck!

I was also going to put the caves on our list of things to do while 'driving around France' in August. We have (well NZ has)a very well known cheese maker/writer Will Studd. He has written an article in this months Australian Gourmet traveler magazine. I've found this website hope it helps......

And for us its a case of <i>"Two Birds, One Stone"</i> Dh has already planned that we <b>will</b> drive across the Millau Suspension bridge. I've google mapped it and its around 30min from the Rocquefort Caves.

lavandula - Have you been to the castle ruins or the archaeological park? What about the Chapelle de Lorette within the town? We were thinking of just spending a day walking around the town, but we'll probably go to the caves also.
