Good day people. We are travelling through France from the beginning of June on a super tight budget! We want to rent a car to be flexible and it also isn't too expensive, but we are afraid that accommodation might be expensive. We are now strongly considering renting camping equipment and sleeping in camp site along the way. Then we also though that renting a small camper van might be the best option! Couple of questions that we need help with please:
1. Any good van rental companies that are well priced? (We found a site advertising at less than 60 Euros per day.
2. If we rent a care, are there any places that would rent out camping equipment for two weeks? (especially in Nice as we will depart from there)
3. Any comments on camp sites along the Nice / Grenoble / Lyon / Paris Route and then Paris / Bordeaux / Toulouse / Marseilles / Nice?
Thanks!
A

I'm not sure that a camper would be cheaper than B&Bs or two-star hotels. You might want to browse through these listings to see what B&B costs would be. We have always found the 2 ears-of-corn establishments perfectly acceptable.
You may want to check out the Logis-de-France or Gites-de-France websites for very inexpensive lodging, especially out in the country.
