Ring Road in 10 Days

Jump to last reply

Hello all, my husband and I plan to rent a car and drive The Ring Road. We are currently spending 5 nights in Reykjavík (working and not sight seeing much) and hope to pick up a rental car in the next couple of days and make our way around the island.
We have about 10 nights to play around with, and are excited to see the beautiful and stunning countryside.

Please help us not to miss any amazing sights that Iceland has to offer. Should we look at taking a flight to see an erupting volcano? Boat ride through the iceberg laden lagoons? Must do hot springs? Spectacular waterfalls? Shortish hikes with a great vista? Best villages to stay in round the island?
And the biggest decision - Clock-wise or antilock-wise around the island? :-)

Thank-you in advance and looking forward to reading your responses.
