Thanks janis. It is a squirrel, is it? I wasn't sure if it was a squirrel or chipmunk. Obviously, I am not an outdoorsy kind of girl.

Thank you so very much for the beautiful photos and music -sax is my favorite. It was all so together. I was scanning the post when ---- there you were, I have been watching every day. I have visited England twice. We covered 4000 miles in 3 weeks. I'll always remember those times. Still no photo of you my Lady, or did I miss it? Thanks again for all your efforts. We don't have chipmonks in the UK. It's a squirrel.

Thanks everyone. I didn't know about the chipmunk thing in England. I guess that's one thing that we (Canadians) have that you don't. Oh, and our prime minister Stephen Harper. But we don't want him. Interested?

No thanks. ;-) I wish you could take all your grey squirrels back too (they were introduced from N.American continent and have taken over the whole country). Our native red squirrels are practically extinct now. As well as being the indigenous squirrel they are 10 times cuter. See here for some pics http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search/im...mp;fr2=tab-web

I remember somebody posting a YouTube clip where some American tourists had brought their own food to Britain because "The British eat squirrels and chipmunks".
When I pointed out that there are no chipmunks here, some wag said that this was because we've eaten them all.

We've eaten all the red squirrels.
I have seen them in the Highlands.

I have been told that they like nothing better than a nice fat grey squirrel.
It seems that they are slower and easier to catch than the red ones.

I've seen the greys cooked on TV once in a 'wild food' programme. Very good for you apparently. Maybe we should try to eat them all and solve the problem that way. No different to eating wild rabbit.
