Rick Steves Carry On Bag
Has anyone purchased / travled with a Rick Steves 21 inch carry on? Watched a video clip on his website and it seems like it holds a lot. The sales pitch is good but what is the real quality? We're looking for a good pack / piece of luggage about this size to take to Europe. Thanks!

I have an older style (non expandable) ETBD bag that I have use 5 times for 2 weeks each time in Europe and it shows no wear. My wife has a newer, expandable bag. She's used it twice in Europe and for some travel in this country. Same thing, shows no wear.
My only complaint is that he uses such thick material (1000 denier) that is weighs a lot (2 1/2 # for my bag, 3 1/4 for my wife's). I just bought a lighter weight (500 denier, 1 3/4#) bag for my next trip. I am not a fanatic about weight, I just want to pack as much as I can without exceeding the airline's weight limit for carryons.

Larry,
When was the last time someone weighed carryons. Mine has only been weighed once, about 5 years ago on a flight from London to Newark -- their limit at that time was ridiculously low, I had to check my 20 lb carryon.
