Hi, a friend wants to go to Iceland in December for a short pre-wedding guys’ trip. I know that Reykjavik is really famous for its nightlife but my impression is that most partying occurs in the summer time (in part due to extended sunlight hours). Can anyone please advise about nightlife in December? It would be about half a dozen guys in mid and late 20s. If there are particularly noteworthy places, please suggest them.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Trip Ideas
Whilst the partying ramps up a notch in the summertime, Icelanders still like a good night out whatever the weather. I haven't been in December but have been in July, October and November and can say that the biggest nights were during the Airwaves festival in October.
There are too many bars, clubs and pubs to list but you can't really go wrong with a couple of pints in Kaffibarinn followed by a meander along Laugevegur to Nasa nightclub. I'm sure you're aware, but a night out doesn't come cheap in Reykjavik and things don't really get going until after midnight, so be prepared to pace yourself or be finishing your night when the fun's about to start.
As it's a celebratory trip, you should start out with a drink at the bar in Hotel 101. There'll be plenty of beautiful women and there's something vaguely amusing about watching them cover up their designer clothes with massive, quilted coats as they prepare to head out into the street, often clutching a drink which has been decanted into a plastic cup.
The Icelanders are friendly, good looking and like a drink, so if six guys in their twenties can't have a good time there, they can't do it anywhere.
We were there last February and the winter definitely did not deter their partying! Nightlife gets going at midnight (before then the bars are pretty dead) and goes til 6am. They call it "runtur". Our favorite was a place on Klapparstigur--didn't have a name, but the sign was the silhouette of a man in a bowling hat.
