Shopping for a warm sweater and rain parka!
Sorry. Just kidding!
Definitely the Blue Lagoon. A BIG swimming hole with water temps that range from warm to hot to very hot, depending where you go in the pool.
Weather permitting, go to (sorry about spelling...) Thingvalir, a fascinating national park and site of the original outdoor parliament meetings a thousand years ago. Also the place where two of the earth's "plates" meet.
Then there's the geyser field at... Geyser. And a fantastic waterfall nearby (called something like "Gulfloss").
Shopping and restaurants in Reykjavik are nice. The nightclubs are being pushed in all the ads, so you might as well check them out.
If you get onto Icelandair's website, you can check out their listing of day tours. Even if you don't want to use one of their tours, you can still get a good idea of what is available. The Golden Circle is very popular. It takes you to the places Bill mentioned -Thingvellir, Gulfoss Falls, Geysir.
Horseback riding is great, too, and easily available. Whale watching is an option too, although I don't know about now. But Reykjavik itself is a cool and cozy town. (Try Pasta Basta restaurant and the "famous" hot dog place down by the harbor.) Have a wonderful time! There's no place else quite like Iceland.
