Reykjavik for 24 hours

Jump to last reply

We are taking Iceland Air to Europe in July so decided to take advantage of their "free" stopover. So we have 24 hours (actually 25). We plan to take the flybus into central Reykavik, walk around for a few hours, then do the 6 hour excursion tour that departs at 13:00.

So we need a hotel just to crash in for one night. We'll need to be back at the airport for a 7:55 flight, so probably too early to even have breakfast at the hotel. So clean and centrally located is all we want, and therefore as cheap as possible. Any suggestions?

Has anyone had experience doing this that could give any tips. I figure we'll have about 4 hours to "see" Reykjavik before the bus tour.
