Reykjavic nightlife?
I'm travelling to Iceland over Thanksgiving (Nov. 27-Dec. 1), and would like to check out the fabled Reykjavic nightlife. However, I'm traveling alone, mid-20s/female, and wondering whether I'll run into any trouble if I head out to the clubs on my own. Any suggestions?

No, no trouble. I got pretty drunk in some Irish theme pub ( Dubliners ? ) in Reykjavik and watched people get thrown out who collided with the live guitarist. The most trouble youll have is freezing your nuts off ( Oh, I see youre a woman ) at five/six in the morning. It is hard to believe that people from Reykjavik dont go out until the early morning ( at the weekend ) but I would say that the pub I was in didnt start going until two or three AM. My plan was to go out at eleven and return at three but when you see people starting to fill the pub at that time ...

We were in Reykjavik recently. We had no problems what so ever, the Dubliners obviously had gay night on Mondays (not so fun being 3 girls). We continued to the Celtic cross with live music. When we arrived it was mostly Icelandic songs, but it changed to English/American for us to be able to sing along. Everything closes at 1 on weekdays, but on Friday and Saturday it goes on until early morning.

A really positive experience was the small restaurant Café Opera. Try the hot rock fantasies. We made our own food as we ate mountain lamb with wild herbs on a really hot rock. The restaurant had a traffic light at the top of the stair (possibly to show if it was full or not), but the rest of the restaurant was very cosy and it is a piano bar at weekends. When we arrived they served an Icelandic party. We thought was very fun observing friendly quarrels in Icelandic.
