Review of UK trip itinerary
Hi folks,
I would be heading to the UK in June and came across this package -
http://www.expatexplore.com/great_britain/index.html
It seemed a lot cheaper than the other deals I came online. Was wondering what your thoughts were on the itinerary? I would be traveling with my wife and wanted a package that would take care of the accommodation and transport.
This seems like a good deal and was wondering if I should go ahead with it? Please let me know what you think.
Thanks a lot.

Makes me exhausted just looking at the itinerary. Personally I wouldn't go near it - it covers a lot of ground yes, but you are going to some wonderful places for such a tiny amount of time. You'll see a lot of motorway too!
Take Day 1 for instance. London to Cambridge is a fair journey. Cambridge itself deserves some time. But then to go to York too on that same day, get whizzed around there all on the same day! I live near York and it's such a marvellous, special place. Breaks my heart to see such a lightening visit. And I'd love to know who the 'locals' are that you'll be 'having a pint with'!!
Better to concentrate on exactly what you want to see or where you want to go over here and then find a package that goes at a slower pace and covers much less.

As above appears it is one of those American style, see as much as you can in as little time as possible. Could be a punishing travel experience.
Travel independently, rent a car and research as much as possible to focus what you wish to see in the time given you.
For example if you go to Cambridge take a leisurely walk (or rent a canoe) and go down the 'Cam' to the village of Grantchester for afternoon tea. Lovely

This may win the all-time record for covering the most ground and seeing the most -- in a blur from the bus as you drive by on the freeway. You see a lot, but you experience almost nothing, encased in your bubble/bus/tour group. I don't think it would even be helpful deciding what you want to go back and see at greater length. It's just too superficial.

Sorry - but this looks like a huge waste of time and money. You will not have tie to really see anything - and there is NO time in London, which IMHO needs at least 3 days (4 nights).
Pick a few things that you really want to see - then do them. This would just be endless hours sitting on a bus.

Not sure I understand this characterization, a UK company offering a trip within the UK. My best friend, from the West Midlands, took a British company's tour of the American West by coach last spring with an itinerary I wouldn't have touched and she LOVED it. I think you may have it backwards.

A really awful/stupid itinerary. A for instance (they don't tell you which hotels or exactly where they are but assuming night 4 is near Ft William) - there to Keswick for your 'late' lunch to Liverpool is a 7 hour drive minimum. So 7 hours of your day is stuck in the bus. It appears your only stop that day is for Keswick - you won't see anything. Wouldn't touch it w/ a barge pole.
