JUst a great neighborhood bistro/cafe. Le Bouquet St Paul on the corner of rue st Paul and rue St Antoine. It's our neighborhood local our regular apt is across the street. And they serve Berthillon ice cream for dessert or for cones!A short bus ride away Bistro des gastronomes can't be beaten! Lobrano loved it and it is inexpensive 26 Euro for 3 substanial coures including foie gras On rue Cardinal Lemoine

Yes, it's not in the Marais, but Bistro des Gastronomes is close enough, and was at the top of our list of very good dining experiences in November. Wonderful, really.
I've stayed and eaten in the Marais three times, and it beat anyplace we've tried there.
I'm really happy to hear of others enjoying BdG, because they weren't busy the night we were there. I thought it was too good to miss.

Chez Janou,
Ma Bourogogne.
Les Fous en Face. I spent a wonderful evening there when alone on one trip. They had a sing-a-long and passed out papers with the words.

We really enjoyed Chez Janou at 2, rue Roger Verlomme. We liked the bistro food and atmosphere and the prices were moderate. We dined there twice during our last trip. Would love to have a bistro like this as our neighborhood hangout.

I enjoyed Le Hangar - right near the Rambuteau Metro stop. I think it was the first time I had seared foie gras as a MAIN course. I was so happy. It's been awhile since I ate there, but a google just showed some pretty decent reviews.

I third Les Fous d'en Face - intimate, tasty. Loved a great soft-boiled egg with bleu cheese entree...
Also enjoyed: Cafe des Musees.
To the previous comment re: Reed - I haven't finished my trip report yet (Paris-Just Back), but we ate there and really had a sub-par service experience. (And it's in the 7th, not the Marais - would require taking the Metro to get there.) Just couldn't recommend it...

I don't claim that this is "foodie" food, but Equinox -- approximately at the corner of R. Vielle du Temple & R. des Rosiers -- has good food. Check the menu board each day for the 17€ 3-course [entree, main, dessert]. Naturally, some things are better than others, but if the choices fit your tastes, try it.
We've visited Paris four times and each time, we've eaten there a couple of nights.
