restaurant recommendation in Florence
My husband and I will be in Florence for our ten year anniversary this September and I want to make a dinner reservation at a delicious and memorable spot for that evening.
I'm interested in finding a place that is charming and has amazing food. Really don't want to go to a touristy spot. It would also be great (but not required) if we can walk to the restaurant from our hotel (in Santa Croce). We're walkers so a bit of a walk is fine, just not completely across the city.
So, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

A great restaurant(a bit expensive)with great atmosphere is Cibreo, in via dei Macci, 10 minutes walk from Santa Croce. Another very nice and less expensive spot, nice atmosphere and good Italian food in an ancient vaulted cellar is Trattoria Bordino, 10 minutes from Santa Croce, across the river Arno (in the middle between Ponte Vecchio and Ponte alle Grazie)

Il Guscio would be a great choice, on the south side of the Arno and off the tourist trail....lovely place with amazing local dishes and lots of seafood as well. We walked from Piazza della Signoria on two evenings last winter. I wrote a rather extensive report on my two dinners here last January..see if you can find it within my report on Food in Tuscany and Bologna. We liked the place so much that we returned two nights later which is something I rarely do anywhere! Great multi-course meal for two with house wine cost well under 80Euro, as I remember.
There are so many great places to eat in Florence...I would urse you to get away from the beaten path, which it seems that you are willing to do.
