Reservations
I think I've ticked off the apartment managers before I even get to Paris! I had requested (as they offer) they make three restaurant reservations for us and for one evening to St. Chappelle. They made two reservations on consecutive nights and said it's too early to book L'Argume for mid May. They also said to book St Chapelle when we get there. So I asked very politely and with sincere apologies for being a nuisance if they could change La Regalade to a different night as I think I'd enjoy eating two big meals on consecutive nights (the other is Josephine Chez Dumonet). They sent back a one sentence note saying "we will take care of that when you get here."
I may be wrong but it seems unlikely to me that we will get a reservation at La Regalade within the week we are visiting. Opinions?
I cannot communicate well in English much less French!

I've never heard of apartment managers making reservations - but if your said they would - I guess they will
Having a concierge to do things like this is one reason to stay in a hotel versus apartment. You're not assuming they'll be on site to do other things for you there are you? Or is this really an apart-hotel?

I think many apartment managers on-site in Paris will make reservations. But I think you have to specify what night you want to reserve.
As janisj says, just call and ask the restaurant to change the reservation, or wait until you get there. Try to translate what you need to say and you may find the person answering the phone will speak some English.
I have no idea if those restaurants are booked way in advance but most Paris restaurants (not the starred ones) can be reserved the day before. If you don't want to phone, just stop by when you're out in the neighborhood.
Are you talking about a concert at Ste. Chapelle? We got our tickets one day for that evening and I know people were buying tickets just before the concert.

I will call La Regalade myself. From what I've discerned from Fodorites getting reservations at those restaurants can be challenging and necessary to book well in advance. And yes they definitely offer to make reservations. Good to know that I don't have to reserve Ste Chapelle in advance! Thanks!

I agree that you probably can get St.Chapelle tickets close to the time, but if it is a special holiday or concert, you might not. We missed out on tickets on All Saints Day for example. You can do it online--or used to be able to.

Sorry, but I would never have considered asking an apartment manager to make reservations for me. One of the differences between an apartment and a full-service hotel is that the apartment is not full service.
I don't doubt that you have in fact ticked them off, and I would suggest that a box of candy or the like is in order when you meet them to collect the keys.

According to OP they OFFERED to make reservations, she didn't request a special service. The communication since may be a bit abrupt, but I wouldn't show up grovelling for forgiveness! It's probably smart of apartment owners to offer these services (which are certainly not difficult)...one less factor in favor of hotels with concierge.
