Renting a car in Dublin & driving in Ireland

Jump to last reply

My wife and I are flying to Dublin in May for a week's trip in Ireland. I want to rent a car at/near the airport and drive to our first destination Dromoland, a little north of Limerick to meet Irish friends. The next day we'll drive to Kerry for the remainder of the visit.

I assume I'll want a automatic transmission vehicle. Also a GPS seems like a good idea. I don't have a GPS so I believe I should be able to rent one with the vehicle. Is this a good idea or is it super expensive?

Any advise on a rental company, driving tips (never drove on the left side of the road yet), what I can expect to pay would be appreciated.
