Renting a car
Just want to highlight how important it is to refuel tank full:
whatever happens refuel the tank full and then return the car. I was charged roughly 3 times what the actual would have costed me.
One more thing; do book car from multiple places (its for free) as it turns out I got the car delivery roughly 2 hours late.
Cheers everyone!

Or read the general conditions of purchase.
It is absolutely normal to pay 3 times as much - the rental company has to pay somebody to go to the tankstation and fill it up. And add a gigantic margin.
I don't understand the multiple place booking. If you come to one place and the car is unavalaible how does it help to have multiple places ? You'd cancel one place and go to the other and hope they are not late there ?
Please clarify.

I must be terribly lucky because in all my years of renting, I've never had to wait for my rental--there once was a couple hours mix-up due to a last minute change. Generally I use a broker (autoeurope or kemwel) which may make a difference?

Rent from multiple places? That seems ridiculous on many levels. I've rented hundreds of cars in Europe and never had to wait for my rental unless there were a few people in line ahead of me. So you rent from multiple places and then have to go to the trouble of canceling the rentals you don't use???
Of course you have to refuel yourself. Every rental contract spells out the consequences of not doing that.

@woinparis
select the pick up point which is nearby. I observed offices were closeby
@StCirq
Its better to do it from multiple places. All your plans are disturbed if you don't get delivery in time. I got free navigation because of the delay, but that wasn't worth the wait.
