Rental Car Munich

Will be renting a car at Munich Airport and returning it there after 8 days. What Car Company has the best deals and are there any I should avoid? We have 4 adults traveling about 120 miles per day.

Thanks for any advice, susan

Contact Andrew Bestor at www.gemut.com. He's an expert on Germany auto rentals and uses AutoEurope for less than you can rent from AE directly. Be aware that picking up/dropping off at an airport will add either 12 or 20% (I forget) to your entire rental cost. Andrew can recommend a close by alternative pick up/drop off location.

Thank you for the tips. I tried the Avisworld.com with the code and the Autoeurope.com and found that they could not beat the price I got from Budget. We reserved a VW Saab 4 door for 8 days Munich to Munich airport for $398.00 US which includes taxes and fees. We expected to pay more in Europe for a rental car. We would have liked to have had a larger car but the price was too much for our budget. Thanks for the tips and I hope this string helps others.

happy travels, susan

Hi, Phoenix.

What insurance does that price include? Manual or automatic transmission? Thanks. RTF

Rufus has asked an important question about insurance. I'd phone Budget and ask them about their covrage and compare that to the coverage offered by AE. If you type <rental car insurance> into the search box at the top of the page, several good discussions on the issue will appear on the left-hand side of your page. Do you plan to use the insurance that may be provided by the credit card you use to rent the car?
