RENFE overnight trains
Anyone have any info about the RENFE overnight train from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid? When I go on their site they list a number of ticket options but I can not tell if any are for a sleeper room and how much per person that would cost for 2 seniors..
Thanks.
Thanks.

In checking the Renfe website, it does not appear that there are coaches available for this train, seats only, which is not a very comfortable way to spend 9-1/2 hours. But according to Petrbax.com, the official rep for Renfe in North America, I found the following:
Tourist class cabin:
4-bed cabins with bathroom inside, can be booked from one to four passengers, male or female.
Female: Shared exclusively with females.
Male: Shared exclusively with males.
Family: Reserved in its entirety, 4 passengers mandatory, male or female.
Preferente (Business) class cabin:
Cabin with 2 beds, bathroom inside, grooming kit and newspapers.
Breakfast is included in international routes.
Single: 1 bed for 1 passenger.
Double Family: 2 beds for 2 travelers.
Grand Class Cabin:
Cabin with 2 beds, bathroom and shower inside, grooming kit and newspapers.
Breakfast and dinner a la carte included in international and national routes.
Single: 1 bed for 1 passenger.
Double Family: 2 beds for 2 travelers.
You can check the prices. There may or may not be a discounted web fare, depending on when you are traveling.

What is your experience of overnight train travel? This overnight journey, as with many which do not have a dedication to comfort and a price tag to match, may spoil your following day of site seeing (if that is the case), due to tiredness.

Hi JESVancouver
There is a Talgo train that goes during the day from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid Chamartin leaving 14.47 and arriving at 21.08 that same day.
Otherwise the Trenhotel service departs Santiago de Compostela at 22.33 and arrives the next morning at 8.02.
The first option is about €31 pp, the second you can get a seat for €20 (but that's madness on a night train imo!) or a tourist berth at around €78
Check renfe.es for prices!
