My wife and I are looking to have an unwinding and relaxing week of vacation together in Europe in early July.
We live in Chicago, are in our early 30s and active with no kids, but would be happiest in a place with a nice pool, beautiful views, and a quiet beach - in or near a town (or at a property) with great food. My focus is on finding a terrific hotel/resort in Greece or the Costa del Sol of Spain, and then planning a trip around that where we can spend time together and relax. While some sightseeing would be ok, that's not a priority.
It's hard to narrow down choices since names of towns in Greece and Spain are plentiful and not so familiar, and I'm still searching for a website that would help me choose. Of course money is always an object, I would not easily see us spending more than 300 Euros/night on accommodations.
Any great hotels in Greece or Spain resort towns, amazing experiences in such places, or website recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hi, I have a little bit bad experience in one Spain resort (Ibiza). What I can suggest you is to make a health insurance before you departure. You also have to be careful with the crowds to the main streets because it is full of gipsies (and not only) just wating you to distract for a while, so be careful with them. By other side I can also recommend you a place where was very nice, I talk about Sunny Beach in Bulgaria. The food was very delicious and more important for me was the unbelievable low price of hotel accomodations. I was in hotel Amfora (I found it here http://www.sunnybeach-bulgaria.net/hotels/) and the price there was 12 eur/night, which included and the breakfast, so I can strongly recommend it to you.
Petasos Beach Resort, Mykonos, Greece
Beautiful pool, near beaches, short ride into town.
www.mykonosgrand.gr Another great place in Mykonos. Great pool and an easy walk down to a sandy beach. Shuttle service to town.
