Regensburg to Berlin
We are still trying to decide whether to go to Prague on our holiday in Oct.
After Munich we have 7 days with no accommodation booked and are thinking of driving to Rothenburg odT (1nt) then through Wuerzburg to Regensburg (2nts) then either to Prague (2nts) and Dresden (2nts) before Berlin OR leave out CZech Republic and see more of the area in Germany between Regensburg and Dresden.
Any suggestions?

I suppose your question is whether it's worth combining Prague into your Germany trip. Prague is always worth it, but you have to reduce your time elswhere, maybe reduce your dats in Munich, or skip Regensburg/Rothenburg.

Hi Tarra -
If you chose Prague, how would you get there? Air Dolomiti runs a very nice flight from Munich to Prague. You could also drive around Franconia a bit, drop the car off in Nuremburg, and take the train to Prague. What you most likely cannot do is drive a rental car from Germany to CZ.
I would opt for more Germany.
Rothenburg is magical in the early morning and the late evening, which makes it a great place for making day trips. Wuerzburg makes a great day trip from Rothenburg.
I highly recommend an overnight stop in Bamberg on your way to Dresden. And if you like churches, nearby Vierzehnheiligen is one of Germany's best.
Coburg is also interesting. I might also try Weimar on your drive to Dresden.
Gute Reise!

Thank you DAX and Robertino. We have the lease car for six weeks and luckily we can drive this in Czech Republic. If we leave the 7 days between Munich and Berlin flexible until we get to Germany, do you think it would be hard to find last minute accommodation? The other five weeks of our trip have been planned and booked ahead.
