Take a look at http://www.max.de/cityguide/city/mue...er+Garten.html. It's in German, but you can also find out more in English on TripAdvisor

I have never stayed there, but there have been some favorable comments on TripAdvisor. It has a good location close to the Kleinhessenloher See (Park lake) and is within walking distance to bus, tram and sub-way stations.

I stayed at the Hotel Englischer Garten in Sept. The hotel was fine for us because we wanted to be in that location. We walked all over the park and explored Schwabing. It was rainy so the garden (outside area of the hotel) was not available. The room was small, don't know if they have larger rooms, and was not inexpensive. I probably would not stay there again.
There was a good restaurant across the street.
