Recent earthquake in N. Italy
I will be in Ferrara, Mantua, Padua, Verona and Bergamo the next couple weeks. I'm aware that there was some damage in Ferrara. Does anyone know if there are any limitations for tourists either with visiting sites or transportation concerns?
Thanks in advance!!!!!

I don't know but am hoping someone else will answer as I am also going to those sames towns in July. I have been googling it and only able to find a few articles those first few days after the quake and they only mention damage in the two towns hardest hit.

Perhaps post a question on this thread as the OP is blogging from Bologna and might have some info on damages.

We were in Padova last week and the earthquake was quite strong at our hotel. We are from California, and not usually thrown by this size of quake-- but it is a whole different thing to be in a truly old building, surrounded by even older, bigger buildings!
I know there was a lot of damage in Ferrara-- but we didn't see anything significant in Padova. All transportation was up and running the next morning.
By the way-- a precious Italian moment. As we all stood out on the street at 4am, wondering whether we should go back into the little hotel-- they started making espresso for those who wanted it, to help calm our nerves!

Hi!
I am in Los Angeles and will leave my fate to (hopefully) fortune smiling down on me here and there!!!!!!! I'm waiting for the big one here and realize the magnitude of being around the old buildings there!!!! My house here was only built 5 years ago, yet.......
Enjoy your stay, hope the coffee helped!!!!!

We were in Padua y'day and drove through Bologna, Ferrara &
environs today - saw one brick barn that may have fallen down
but nothing else - we sure felt it in Milan and a friend was
really shocked in Rimini. But it's business as usual here.
