Re-configuring our trip to Cinque Terre

Jump to last reply

Bless the people on the coast and many prayers to them and their families. I live on a barrier island and 2 months ago we had a storm with horrible flooding, severe damage and a halt to our livelihood... tourism. It makes me so sad. Thank you to the poster that added the relief money info. With so many people that love the area I hope we can make a difference.

So need help Fodorites.... at the moment I am in the finishing stages of planning my Italian Trip. Route mapped, accommodations are being booked, which included a 4 day stay in Santa Margherita starting on December 10th. One day for walking to Portofino, 2 for hiking around Cinque Terre and a day for whatever strikes my fancy.

So after re-researching.... here are the options...

1. Leave Parma and spend a few more days around Alba wine tasting, truffle hunting and risotto eating. I guess that would be really rough... ha ha

2. Depending on if the weather cooperates and is sunny leave Parma, drive to Santa Margherita and spend a day there and in Portofino then extend my stay in Alba by 2 days.
After our storm in September any tourism, even on the other islands financially helped.

There are no losers in either scenario : )

Any input would be helpful!!! Thanks
