Ravensbruck and Sachsenhausen

I am thinking of visiting both Ravensbruck and Sachsenhausen in a day trip from Berlin. Is this possible by rail transportation or is it too complicated? Do you suggest renting a car?
Has anyone visited Ravensbruck and would you recommend it? I'm thinking it might be too overwhelming to visit two camps in one day.

Thank you,
Eve

It is not really complicated since both Oranienburg (for Sachsenhausen) and Neustrelitz (for Ravensbrück) are on the same railway line from/to Berlin(one train per hour). But in both cases, it will require appr. 1/2 hour walk one way to reach the camps. Only Sachsenhausen seems to have a bus service from Oranienburg station (one per hour).
If you wish to limit it to one camp, I would suggest Sachsenhausen since it is closer from Berlin, and Oranienburg train station is also served by Berlin's suburban train system (every 20min), so it may be easier re. logistics to get there.
Renting a car will add more flexibility, and it's also not difficult to go to both places since both are on/near Hwy 96 going North from Berlin towards the Baltic Sea.

Sorry, I mixed up the train stations:
Train station for Ravensbrück is Fürstenberg, NOT Neustrelitz.

Eve, I have visited both camps and yes, I do recommend visiting Ravensbruck. The two sites are very different as Ravensbruck served as a women's camp. (In fact, Fiorello La Guardia's sister, Gemma La Guardia Gluck, was imprisoned there.) Sorry I can't help with the transportation issue as I was with a group and the transportation was arranged for us.
