Rail News: RENFE Launches AVE Trains Into France

Jump to last reply

RENFE, the Spanish Railways has launched direct AVE trains (Series 100 trains) between Madrid and Marseilles, taking about 7 hours and change.

and RENFE is also running direct AVEs on the Barcelona to Lyon and Toulouse routes.

AVE trains are basically Ffrench TGV trains even I believe made by the same manufacturer (not 100% sure of that) - more services rumored to be added this July (2014) and in 2015 a Barcelona to Geneva train may follow (seems like a reprise of the old Talgo trains that ran that route for years before being scrapped a few years back.
