We're going to Moscow independently for New Year and are considering taking the train from Domodedovo to Paveletsky station or the airport bus to Domodedovskaya metro station.
Normally we take a pre-booked driver from the airport but wondered if anyone has tried the public transportation system as we'd like to try it but don't know anyone who has done this.
Thank you for your advice

I've personally taken the train once from Domodedovo (DME / UUDD) to Paveletsky, and then taken a cab to my hotel. If you don't know Russian it can be a real hassle at the train station-usually I recommend to clients that they just book a car from the airport directly to their hotel (the cost isn't that much greater for two people direct by car from Domodedovo to downtown Moscow unless you can negotiate effectively with the drivers at the train station, which can be problematic).
If you are going to need a taxi to get from Paveletskaya Station you might as well just book a taxi ahead of time from the airport into the city. You can get a pre-booked taxi for about $30.
Thank you very much to you both for your replies. I can see it's probably not worth the effort of taking the train.
