quick trip to Ireland...need help

Jump to last reply

Visiting daughter who is studying in Dublin. Last minute trip and hate to travel this way but we are there M-F flying into Dublin. We can use Dublin as a base and do the tours there, but my husbands never been to Europe and I wanted to have him see other parts of Ireland. Would you suggest renting a car and perhaps Tues-Thurs do a drive and if so what cities. (I loved Killarney) Or would you do an overnight tour and let someone else drive and take us to the sites and plan the itinerary and we just show up? Connemara/Galway or Ring of Kerry or Blarney and Killarney? We are more into history and buildings then nature..but we want to get as much as we can for our buck and time.
