I'm interested in seeing some places in Poland. One of them is Malbork Castle. I'd also like to visit one of the sites or memorials to the Poles who died in the "Katyn Massacres." I know that there is more than one location. Most of them seem to be in Russia or perhaps Ukraine.

Are there any such sites in Poland? Or are they mostly in Russia?

I'd like to know how to get to Malbork castle from Gdansk. It seems to be quite close.

I took the train from Gdansk to Makbork then walked about 15 minutes to the castle as I recall. Great castle.

I know this isn't what you want, but there is a national Katyn memorial in Baltimore, MD. They have a large Polish community and an annual Polish festival, also. you can donate to it, if you want.

There is a memorial to the Katyn Polish victims in St Bartholomew church in Warsaw, they have a wall with the names engraved of all the victims.

There is a memorial to the Katyn Polish victims in St Karol Boromeusz church in Warsaw, they have a wall with the names engraved of all the victims. It's called the sanctuary to fallen and murdered victims in the East or something like that and was built in the 1980s. The church is NW of Old Town near Arkadia shopping mall on the edge of the Powazki cemetery. Several tram lines run right near there.

That is a cemetery with a lot of famous people buried in it, also, like members of the Chopin family

There are numerous trains from Gdansk to Malbork. It is about a 50 minute trip by the InterCity train or about 85min by the milk run special.

The local train can be a third of the price of the IC.

Malbork train station (an architectural gem in its own right) is about a 15 minute walk from the castle.

You can visit the castle with a guide or go the self-guided route.

Another option would be to take a bus tour. There is a tourist information office on Długi Targ in Gdansk, they have tour offers, including a nighttime visit to the castle and the light and sound show

I know there is a Katyn Memorial at the Military Cemetery in Gdynia-Redłowo.
(GoogleEarth coordinates are 54 deg 29'26.27"N 18 deg 32' 42.44"E)

The cemetery is a 15 minute walk from the Gdynia-Redłowo SKM train station.

I think just about every city and town in Poland has a memorial about Katyn somewhere in a public park or square.

I found the one in Wroclaw particularly moving.

Largest in Europe by far I think! Great in other ways too.

Thanks, I'd like to go there in the fall. Wroclaw seems like a nice town, in addition to the memorial.
