Questions about Malaga to Nerja at night

Hi everyone, I will arrive Malaga at around 10pm and planning to go by bus to Nerja directly, anyone has experienced ALSA? I am not sure if it is too early to look for the time schedule after 2 months, I only can see 4 bus per day to Nerja however I need a bus after 23:00.

Since this is midnight, is Nerja a difficult place to look for accomodation? any recommendation ?

I mean look for the direction at night, for sure I will book in advance, but Nerja seems very quiet and I am worry they are lack of road sign for tourists that's why I am asking.

For accommodation you will have to prebook somewhere with 24 hour desk. Booking.com will help you there.
ALSA is the national bus company. Well almost national , you should have no trouble with them.
Some CC do not work via the website so prebooking maybe difficult.
If you are worried about walking a long distance between bus station and hotel take a taxi, or stay in Malaga for one night.

26 buses from Málaga to Nerja every day, the last one leaves Málaga at 23:00 h. ALSA runs like a clock. http://www.alsa.es/en/

Taxi from Málaga airport to Nerja in 40 minutes for some 65-70€. Pree-book at http://nerjataxis.net/ or http://malagacabbie.com/

Loads of hotels in Nerja, no problem arriving after midnight.
- Hotel Plaza Cavana is as central as it gets:
http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/plaza-cavana.html
http://www.hotelplazacavana.com/
- So is seaside Hotel Balcón de Europa: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/balcon-de-europa.html
http://www.hotelbalconeuropa.com/
- I've stayed several times in close by, basic hotel standard and great value Hostal Mena: https://www.hostalmena.es/hostal/
- The four star Parador is very tranquile and just five min walking from landmark Balcón de Europa (and the other hotels mentioned): http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/parador-de-nerja.html
http://www.paradores-spain.com/spain/pnerja.html

Be aware that almost all restaurants and bars in Nerja serves free tapas to choose with every drink of beer, wine etc in the bar area, normally 1,50-2€. Some fabulous places in town with excellent tapas. La Marina, El Pulguilla and La Puntilla are my favourites, but dozens of other local atmosphere fine places.

- El Pulguilla: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...Andalucia.html
- La Puntilla: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...Andalucia.html

Nerja is chock-full of expats and tourists. The road signs will not be a problem since Spanish and English use essentially the same alphabet.

That's an optimistic time. Figure closer to an hour.

The reason you've only seen a few services offered by Alsa is that they delay confirming the timetable until 2 or 3 weeks prior to the date. So don't panic, you'll have plenty of choice - and it's easy to book online. I've always found them very reliable.

Assuming that you're flying into Malaga, hope you realise that you need a bus from the airport to the bus station (approx 25 mins) before you can get a bus to Nerja. It's all quite straightforward but time consuming.

Or taxi from the airport to the bus station in about 10 minutes and 15-20€.

Thanks all !

I will arrive Malaga at 21:35 by ryanair, even I will have only handcarry luggage, I guess it is impossible to take the bus or train at 22:00, so the next bus or train will be leaving at 22:30, the next 30 minute I must make it to the bus stop and purchase our tickets, not sure if I can do it with my parents.

So before I have another solution, I guess I will either take a taxi to the bus stop or hire a taxi to Nerja directly.

Did anyone heard of Malagashuttlebus.com ? The website is very promising, door to door service, however no details information given from their site.

The only details that seem to be missing are the pickup time and pickup location.

There's a number to call them and ask about the pickup point and time: +34 902 105 217

If you take a taxi directly, be sure to pre-book, will save you at least some 10-20€ and you'll have a driver waiting for you at arrival. Never used Malagashuttlebus.
