I hit the wrong button and posted this under General Interest rather than UK. Amanda, thanks for your message. Anybody else have any comments?
I will be in London for three days in July (one being the am flight in day) before heading to Spain. I have been there many times, although not recently, but am taking my 10 year old niece this time. She is a sharp kid and easy. I have seen some discussions about London Walks on this forum, mostly good. I am thinking about the British Museum walk, the Tower of London walk or the one that does Westminster, etc. for her. It would be helpful for someone to give her a little more of the educational stuff than I can give her. My questions are these: ARe they going to be way over a smart 10 year olds head? Are the walks going to be crowded in July so that we feel like cattle being dragged around, unable to hear? What were ya'll's experiences? Thanks in advance.

One of the smaller walking tour companies is "Historical Walks" and I found all their walks to be excellent. Their groups tend to be much smaller, which makes it so much nicer and eisier to hear. You can get their brochures at most hotels and I think at the tourist board. I think your niece would enjoy some of them. There is a certain amount of humour and they are enjoyable. I took my niece and nephew on them and they enjoyed them, although they wre a bit older...teenagers.
Good luck.
