Question for the Giro watchers

We will be in Malcesine (Lake Garda) when the Giro d'Italia comes through. One morning it starts in Limone sul Garda on the other side of the lake.

I think the stage starts at noon which gives us time to get up and moving and cross the lake for an early arrival. I've heard that it's a lot smaller than the Tour de France and easier to see/chat up the riders before the stage starts.

Anything special I should know/consider? We will be taking the boat and walking so no worries about parking. Given that we will be at the very beginning we aren't going to see anything other than the very start. Anything else?

Thanks.
