Question about getting to Paris from San Sebastian

Jump to last reply

We will be in SS in May for 5 nights and must get to Paris at a reasonable hour on Monday, May 16 for work related conference that begins the next day. Originally I was going to stay in SS and leave Monday am for Paris. Train schedule only has trains leaving Hendaye at 5:30am (too early) or much later in the afternoon that get us in to Paris too late. I have checked bus schedules and plane from Bilbao and nothing works.

So we either take train to Bordeaux on Sunday and then tgv on Monday to Paris or rent car on French side on Sunday, stay in Sarlat one night and maybe one cave tour and then drive to Paris and drop car off outside city. Does this second option sound too crazy hectic?
