Quaint town in Normandy for train/car day trips to Paris, Loire, Dieppe

Jump to last reply

Hi, am looking for advice on a town in Normandy where my family can rent a 5-6 bedroom house for a week or ten days. We will have cars. Would like walking and biking into a town for shopping. Some of us will want to take a train into Paris for day trips. Some of us will want D-day tours. Mont St. Michel is also a desire, and if not too far away, a day trip to a Loire castle. After a week in Normandy, we would like to move to a destination in the Dordogne to serve as a base for the prehistoric cave sites, and stay there 3-4 days. We would fly in and out of Paris.

Any advice is appreciated.
