Puglia--need hotel for last 2 nites HELP trip is coming up
We are going to puglia the first week of september. we land in Brindisi. we spend 6nights there and then drive to Sorrento.
we planned for
Lecce 1 night
Otranto 1 night
Martina Franca 2 nights at masseria madonna dell arco. has anyone stayed there?
we thought to spend the last two nights in Poliginano a mare but are finding it hard to find a hotel with a pool and some charm. we thought it wld be nice to be by the sea.
We are open to suggestions as to town/location.
Please help! ihave spent hours on the web searching.
i can't find my earlier posts so please excuse me starting a new one!

With the caveat that I have not been yet--Puglia is next on my list and I have already begun research--this is a hotel I have bookmarked for my future trip.
No pool, but a sea view. http://www.bebmalu.it/en/home/
This is the trip report from which I saved the recommendation:

Have you searched on venere.com? This one gets great reviews, has a pool and a beach. North of Polignano a Mare.

FWIW, I probably wouldn't look for "charm" and "pool" in the same property.

If you can forgo the pool, and if you can get one of the stone rooms that literally open to the sea below, you won't regret staying at the above linked grottapalazzese in Polingnano. And dinner in the cave with the waves crashing below you is phenomenal. In all my years of travel, that hotel is still one of the most memorable. But again, only if they can promise you one of the stone rooms.

ok--we are down to two hotels around Polignana a Mare
Has anyone stayed/visited either
Grotta Palazzese --mixed reviews on trip advisor; a good one in a forum?
OR
Malu B&B?
Is Matera definitely worth a vist? if we have problems with lots of steps?

Yes, Matera is worth it because it is so unusual. I had a bad hip and have two bad knees when we visited. There are quite a few overlooks that do not require excessive step descents and ascents.
I do want to add the caveat that unlike others who have visited, we really did not want to spend a lot of time there, though. It was enough for us to have spend 1.5 days there.
