I don't believe you can rent a car in Lourmarin. I suggesst renting your car at the airport. The drive to Lourmarin is not hard and takes about 1 hour. Check autoeurope.com or kemwel.com for car prices.

Thanks so much for your replies and yes I have the Provence Byways book. Also, what is the difference between basic and inclusive? Would you recommend I pay for the car online ahead of time or wait till I get there? Can you request a GPS as part of the car for navigation? Is is difficult and confusing to get out of Marseille? Absolutely pay for the car ahead and get a voucher so you lock in the price. If you only book the car, the rate may be higher when you pick it up. You can book with Autoeurope or Kemwell without cancelation penalty. They will match other vendor's rates.
