Public transportation from airport in Barcelona to El Born
I'd appreciate advice from a local regarding most convenient way with public transportation from the Barcelona airport to Carrer de Calders, 4 justo al lado del Paseo del Born. We are 66 years old, will have each a mid size rolling suitcase and a backpack and hope to use elevators to get down/up in stations. I do not know if elevators are generally available, this is our first trip to Spain.
It appears that one can use trains and/or the metro but I could not figure out which one requires less transfers and is easier to access. I would like to avoid if possible using a cab due to the cost.
Advice and details about what to use, where to transfer, how to navigate to get to our destination from a local familiar with public transportation in Barcelona would be of great help.

you will have to get to the train station at the airport( from T2 walk, from T1 a shuttle bus),then change trains at Sants ( central) station to Estacio de Franca ( close to your address) , and walk to your destination .
IMO, you have a lot of luggage to maneuver around ( not sure about escalators or elevators).
Much easier and safer - take the bus in front
of the terminal to the center...Placa Catalunya .
From
there, the cab would be about 7-10euros.

The bus is right in front of the terminal , it is written Aerobus on it ( blue).

You can by the tickets on the bus... I think it is little over five euros PP.
When you pay the cab, there will be a surcharge for luggage...it is not a rip off-
just normal tariff.
Barcelona has a bit of a reputation for pickpockets.....jet lagged foreigners with a lot of luggage
wondering around a train or metro station
might look like a target.

Direct taxi from the airport to Carrer de Calders/Passeig del Born would be some 25-30€ depending on the time of day and including the airport/luggage extra.
If the bus is more than 5€/person + taxi from Placa Catalunya some 7-10€ incl luggage extra (4€), I would very much recommend to just relax and take a direct taxi from the airport for some 5-10€ more.
