Pretty much all the towns are interesting in their own way... the hard part is picking which ones NOT to visit!! We stayed in Aix-en-Provence which we really liked, and then drove around to several other towns/sites. Our favorites were Arles, Gordes, and especially the Pont du Gard. Our hotel in Aix was fantastic... Le Pigonnet. It was exactly what you'd expect of an inn in Provence, with a gorgeous garden. I highly recommend it! It is slightly outside of the main town, so just be prepared for a short walk to the center of things. Have fun!!!
I love the little perched villages such as Gordes, Bonnieux, Menerbes, Roussillon, Lourmarin, etc.
First off, get the Michelin Green Guide to Provence and decide on your itinerary. Then return here for more specific recommendations.
