Problems with Turkish Airlines - Suggestions?

I had a flight from Kayseri to Istanbul scheduled. I called to see if I could cancel it as my plans weren't firm yet. The gentleman on the phone said there had been a schedule change so I could cancel and no charge. He said he took care of everything for me and should see a refund in a few weeks, When I did not see it., I called back. They said there was a probelm with the way I had booked the ticket or made a change or something and the person was mistaken - but they went ahead an cancelled it this time, even thought I did not ask them too. And after cancelling it, they said I needed to go to a sales desk to get a refund. Unfortunately, there is no ticket desk or sales desk in Seattle! When I called back they offered me the numbers of the offices in the US - which in turn told me to call the 800 number. When I called the 800 number back, they said I had to go to one of the offices - LA, Chicago, New York - when I said that wasnt really possible - he said that was my problem.
The only option I can think of at this point is disputing the charge on my credit card?
Any suggestions?
