private transportation between Heathrow and London

We are arriving at Heathrow (2 people) on Thursday night. Would like transportation to our hotel for a fixed rate (not metered taxi). Our hotel could arrange this for 70 pounds (for 2 people), but I thought that was a bit pricey. Maybe, it's not. Any suggestions for reliable transportation.

We always use www.justairports.com they have an online estimate so you can compare the prices.

And here's a third satisfied user of justairports.com
Have also used and been pleased with exclusiveairports.com for LHR into town. Price is about the same, exclusive seemed to use slightly nicer vehicles. Either would be fine.

I would heartily recommend Shyne Minicabs, the price should be more like 50 to central London. £70 is a bump.

Try justairports or simplyairports - but you should have been thinking about this several weeks ago.

Failing that, where is your hotel &v what time are you arriving. The Tube is substantially cheaper than a taxi and could even be quicker.

CCsabol,Last summer I took HOTEL BY BUS from Heathrow to a hotel near Trafalgar Square. Fare was about $30 one way for one. Just checked their site and they now advertise “from” £ 22.50.

We dropped off a few parties on the way – interesting tour through London neighborhoods. The ride was long with midday traffic. I was really thankful that I was not in a taxi!

Which at either rate would be more expensive than a car service for 2 people . . .
