Private tours in Cesky Krumlov and Krakow?
Hello
I will be travelling to Cesky Krumlov and Krakow in late August/early September. I'll be spending 5 nights/4 days in Cesky Krumlov and would like to spend part of that time in Telc and possibly Slavonice as well. Can anybody recommend a company or a private tour guide who can help with this?
Also, I'll be in Krakow for 5 nights/4 days and would appreciate any recommendations for tour guides/companies there (I am interested in seeing Auschwitz, Lake Morskie Oko and also doing a "river rafting" trip on the Dunajec River - although I'm not sure I'll have time to fit all of that in!).
Many thanks in advance for your help.

I have been in both and didn't feel the need to hire a travel guide - is this your style? Both places (CK and Krakow) are easy to get around and a good travel book will help.
I admit, I did not go to Telc or the Lake you mention. We drove around the countryside in Czech and found it easy. Also, we took the bus to Zakopane and Auschwitz and we don't speak the language outside of the basics. we also took the train to see the Black Madonna in Czechotowa (sp)

We too have been to these places, and we too got along on our own. But, maybe that is not your comfort level. Ond day in Telc is more than adequate. Cesky Krumlov is very small and very easily doable on foot. I can't figure our why you'd even want a guide there. We had a rental car and found it very easy to get around the Czech Republic even though we don't speak Czech. If you are interested in rafting, there are tons of organizers who do trips out of Cesky Krumlov. It is not they type with the costumed boat polers like on the Dunajec though.
We have been to Krakow twice, both times on our own with a rental car. We drove to Auschwitz, but all hotels have info on private companies with day trips there. The salt mines were also a one of a kind experience. We had looked into the rafting trips too, but didn't do one as they are quite out of the way. I also wonder if they will be operating in early Sept.

There is no need for a guide for Cesky Krumlov as the town is very small. Your ticket to Rosenburg Palace or Baroque Theatre, for example, come with a guided tour in the language of your choice. Therefore, I don't know what a guide would be needed for.
I can't comment on either Krakow or Telc.

Thank you everyone for your comments and help! I don't necessarily *need* a private guide but thought it might be helpful - I'm happy to use guidebooks instead and will start looking for a couple of good books now!
Thanks again...
