Private Tour Guide: Art Journey (Paris)

Jump to last reply

Greetings fellow Fodorites. Heading back to Paris since it's been 8(!) years since my last visit. I've been vacationing in Italy these past years but am overdue for the City of Light so off I head at the end of the month. Just myself and my adult DD who has become my go-to travel companion since DH doesn't want to deal with airline travel anymore. Well, I've been to the Louvre many times but never spent much time in the Near Eastern, Egyptian,Greek Antiquities collections or the Islamic Art Department (looking forward to seeing the "veil"). I'm considering a private tour of these Departments and have found a tour group on the Paris Tourism website - Art Journey. These guides are graduates of the Louvre School and they look great on paper. Does anyone have experience with these guides. I find them reasonable for a private 4 hour tour (E200 total for DD and I). Although I know I do not need a guide in the Louvre, I did find a guide enjoyable last year at the Vatican Museums even though I'd spent many, many hours there previously on my own. Actually, knowing the tour will be for 4 hours helps my DD cope since she knows I can definitely spend the entire day in a museum :)
