Preparing Trip Budget - Italy, London, Paris
I am just trying to work out a trip budget - I'm wondering how much other's budget per day.
Right now, I have a budget of $160 EURO per person per day - that is for London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Florence, Amalfi.
I'm still working on gathering information on museum pass costs, train tickets, etc - but I'm wondering if I am even in the ballpark of what is reasonable. I can come up with some additional cash if my budget is too low. I understand this is a completely individual thing - but I'm trying to get a sense of costs over there.
I know London is expensive - my thoughts right now are that $160 EURO/person won't be enough in London, but should be more than enough in Italy, particularly if we stay in smaller hotels/ B&Bs.
We are not extravagent people - but we aren't hostel people either. We want decent, clean accomodations in a central location where possible.

I think it is probably an individual thing and has a lot to do with your lifestyle.
My wife and I travel in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy with occasional trips to England. Obviously there is the cost of airfare and then I start out thinking about $100-$120 (USD) per night for hotels/gasthauses/pensions for the two of us. We usually stay in 2 or 3 star places.
Then I add in a car with expenses, Food is usually a hotel breakfast, a quick sandwich or something simple at lunch and a sit-down dinner. Add to that the cost of attractions and souviners nad we are covered.
Last time in London we did the priceline routine and ended up in the 4* Waldor Hilton on Auldwich in the theater district for $115 per night (USD) with no breakfast.
I hope that is helpful to you to see how we budget. Our last trip in April was from the West coast to Munich and Southern Germany then to London for a few days. 15 days total was about $5000 for everything.

Other details such as how many people are sharing a hotel room make a difference. Traveling solo is a bit more expensive then when I go with a friend.
Individual preferences like how much sight-seeing you are interested in doing in ways that cost money (public transpo, museum passes) change things too. For example, I'm a big lover of public parks which obviously are free.
I would basically budget the same as in any large city in the U.S. if you were to pay for a hotel, restaurant meals, tours, etc. Excepting London I don't find Europe more expensive than Seattle (my home town) for doing similar activities.
