Have our tickets for Bayeux to Paris but no seat assignment. Will we need to find them for ourselves or will the conductor help us find two together? I was certain the last Prems I booked, Paris-Avignon,we had a seat selection. BUT...that was 2 years ago
Prems tickets purchased... but where do we sit?

Traveling from Paris to Avignon, the trains are TGVs. All seats are reserved on TGVs.
Traveling from Bayeux to Paris, the trains are TER trains or Intercité trains. On these trains, reservations are an additional cost, usually just several euros but in all likelihood, you will not need reserved seating.
TGV train will always assigns seat for quick and easy boarding and unboarding.
In other train (TER (i.e regional train mostly 2 cars trains, or non TGV national) seats are optional and you are usually on your own to find your seats.
Hope that will help
I am sorry that this topic was posted twice. I really had some tech problems and was beginning to wonder if this post might appear multiple times. Guess I'm fortunate it was only twice. Okay...I do have the PREMS tickets already. They are 2nd class and I presume a TER train. Do you see us having problems finding seating together...will the conductor help us with that?
No,conductors don't help you find seats - that's up to you. Just get there when the train is first ready for boarding. If you don't get seats together it's not the end of the world. People will be getting on and off at the various stops, and the seating arrangements will change.
We took the train to Bayeux from Paris last March. We bought PREMS tickets on-line. There were no seat assignments. But there was no problem finding seats.
Merci!
