Praiano to Venice - options?

We just booked our flights for our Oct honeymoon - yay! And now I am trying to figure out how to get from Praiano to Venice.

I was looking into flights and found one for about 40E from Lamezia to Venice. But how difficult/costly it would be to get to Lamezia Terre from Praiano? Also found flights from Naples to Vernona. We could check out Verone before going on to Venice maybe... I don't see anything directly from AC vicinity (or Sorrento, Salerno, etc) to Venice though....

Also considering the overnight train, but I am really having trouble figuring out the logistics on the trenitalia site.

If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.

We'd be willing to be a bit inconvenienced to save some money...but within reason.

Thanks!

Hi Carol,

From Praiano, you can take the SITA bus to Sorrento train station.

From Sorrento, take the Circumvesuviana train to Naples and the train to Venice.

Schedules at www.trenitalia.com show that the 19:57 night train out of Naples arrives Venezia San Lucia at 05:24.

A 2 person compartment is about 170E.

www.alpieagles flies Naples to Venice VCE.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm... so according to the Naples airport website, Alitalia is the only airline to fly direct from Naples to Venice.

So the overnight train option...arriving in Venice at 5 am does not seem so great.

Maybe we would just take a day train... we do have the time and could enjoy looking at the countryside.

On the trenitalia site you can purchase tickets 60 days in advance, right? I have already registered. There are so many options for fare... which would I want?

Thanks so much!
Carol

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Alpieagles isn't flying Naples/Venice anymore.

They will still fly you to Verona for 84E pp..

However, I don't think that that will be any more convenient than taking the train out of Naples.

A limo from Praiano to Naples train station is about 100E.

Carol - If you want to travel overnight there are later trains:

dep. Salerno 20.27
arr. Venice 09.23

(Change at Bologna)

OR

dep. Salerno 01.19
arr. Venice 10.45

(No change)

Hope this helps ...
