Prague-Zadar (Croatia) Transport - help!

Hi folks -

I've been perusing this board for a week now and everybody has fabulously helpful tips, so I'm hoping you can help me out with this one.

My husband and I are planning a 3 week trip to Spain, Prague & Croatia in June. We fly into Bilbao and out of Dubrovnik (tix booked), spending about 5-7 days in each area. The only absolute so far is a sailing trip from Zadar that departs on Saturday, 6/16 at noon. We need to get there from Prague and wanted to fly in on Friday, but all the affordable airlines only fly on Saturday and arrive too late.

We're definitely open to training it to Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, or wherever if we can get a direct flight to Zadar from there. Right now, the only option I've been able to come up with is to fly to Split on Saturday and take a bus to Vodice, where we can meet up with our boat; it will be close to midnight by the time we get there though.

Am I missing something? Does anybody have suggestions?

Thanks for your help!!

maybe you could fly into Split and take the bus to Zadar - it's about 4 hours - and it may be easier to get to Split than Zadar (which is a great little city)

Fly Germanwings via Cologne, they fly on Thursday from Cologne to Split, gets you to Zadar easily by Sat. Cut short your Prague stay and add a Cologne visit - not a bad trade-off!

You could also take the train from Prague to Zagreb, and either fly or bus to Zadar. This would give you an opportunity to explore Zagreb as well.
