Prague old town

I am going to Prague in June with my 15 year old. I am planning on staying in OldTown but read that it can be loud and rowdy. I like to go to bed by 11. Should I be worried about this? Should I stay in another area?

The Old Town section is pretty crowded with restaurants and pubs. We stayed in the Mala Strana area at the Pod Vezi Hotel http://www.podvezi.com/

We never had a problem with noise even though we were right by the Charles Bridge. We were able to walk almost everywhere very easily. If we needed to take the tram we could buy tickets at the front desk and they gave excellent directions, too.

The breakfast is fantastic, too.

Where exactly do you plan to stay? We stayed at the Hotel Maximillian in Old Town but it was on a quiet street and we were not at all bothered by noise. If you post your location, others who have stayed on the same block will likely be able to to give you good advice.

We stayed in the Hotel Unitas just a little south of the Old Town. It was very quiet and comfortable, highly rated on TripAdvisor. Very good breakfast.

I would not say it is rowdy but can be loud all day and well into the night, it is just the sheer volume of people in the area ans the narrow streets that echo any noise.I have been in Old town square after midnight and it has still been pretty busy and in June you are likely to get pub crawls and stag parties making a racket late on but depending where you saty you could be in a nice quiet spot.

Old Town is a large area and to say it is all rowdy and noisy is silly. It depends where your hotel is, obviously.

Thank you. I just checked out Unitas and Maximilian and they will both work for us. Now I need to choose.

Look at LivingPrague.com. It's a goldmine of info from a local.

I stayed in an apartment a few doors down from the Maximilian, mentioned above. I agree that the area is central but not too busy/loud. Great location. Enjoy Prague!
